What is an AGENTS.md file?

It is the file Claude Code and Codex read first: it defines the AI role, your rules and your standards. It is the core of a configured AI workspace.

Do I need to code?

No. The folder is already written: you open it in Claude Code, Claude Cowork or Codex, and the first mission has the agent fill in your context — it asks, you answer.

How is it different from a prompt pack?

A prompt pack gives phrases to paste into an empty chat. The Dossier-Contexte gives AI persistent context to read before working.

Does it work with Codex and ChatGPT?

Yes. The folder is standard Markdown, portable in Claude Code, Claude Cowork and Codex. You need a paid plan for one of the three: Claude (Pro or Max) or a paid ChatGPT plan. Without an agent that reads a folder you can paste AGENTS.md into a ChatGPT Project, but you lose the missions and the journal.
